What’s the best way to prepare meat? If i cut some up for tomorrow, stick it in a air tight bag into the fridge will this be good? The meat won’t float doing it like that will it?

        Thanks.

If you cut it up tonight for tomorrow, it will be fine.

cut it up and then rinse it under hot (well warm) water to wash off the excess fat (this is what makes it float)

I cut mine then boil it to get all the grease off, then bag it, that way it wont float, i usually cut some same size ye old oak ham for hookers, and what you dont use freeze for next time out as the more times you freeze then thaw the better it seems to get.

i couldnt believe how much fat and grease came out the meat after it has been soaked in water.just one interesting question.when would you consider using meat ie time of year?

worth a try on the hook all year round, i only feed it in the spring to late autumn though personally.

on my local at this time of year i wont feed any meat, just fish it on the hook….
in summer you can get through a few tins of the stuff and the more you put in the more fish come to it!!
allways worth having a bit with you though as you never know, and like billy said if you dont use it freeze it after!

Try two quarter inch pieces on a long light hair just tucked in and covered by damp micro’s on a small preston pellet feeder, trust me! as good if not better than the meathod.

Do anglers still dust their meat with a fishmeal groundbait or is that now firmly out of fashion?

no i still dust mine, also occationally fry some in bisto granules or oxo cubes (done this since i was a kid)
brilliant then as it toughens up the skin and will never come of the hair!
gonna try atomic cloud on some this summer as well 🙂

I dusted my meat with groundbait, looked brilliant, caught me bugger all however but the carp just didn’t feed where i fished today.

                                      Tip from snooty……….

When you put your meat through the cutter, put all the pieces back through again. Put all those pieces back through again (effectively you are putting the same tin through 3 times). Perfect feed for the tosspot OR for putting through the feeder.

                                        Hi all
                                        try garlic sausage
Jack fulton does a good one
unfrozen, its in a plastic wrap
                                        i think its polish
it stinks to high heaven but it works for me
it does not float or need fat removing either
