Tried fishing the meat feeder for the first time today and either the meat wouldn’t come out at all or it came out on the cast. I was using 6mm cubes and couldn’t get any to come out of the drennan gripmesh feeders. Tried the guru feeders with a little more success but lost a lot of bait on the cast. What am I doing wrong?

I put 4mm cubes in a gripmesh and then plug each end with 4mm cubes put back through my cutter so its minced up,i also use plenty of hemp mixed with the meat and never had probs with the meat sticking in the feeder or coming out on a cast..

You want to use 2 – 4mm meat in the feeder with 6 -8mm hair rigged hook bait. If you add some greenstim to the feed meat it helps to bind it in the feeder. After casting try and move the feeder so it leaves the meat on the bottom with the hook over it. This means carefully moving the feeder very slowly, not giving it a quick wind. Keep the casting tight.
