billy the squid s.t.aParticipanti know the drennans are a millianth of a gram heavier than 911’s and 28’s but still work much better. it’s the sharpness i tink..

TF_Chum MixerParticipantFor maggot Method work the Kamasan 711’s in 20’s take some beating.

TF_Mike_GlobeI’ve had fish to 18lbs on the 911’s and they’ve never bent, there must be some lumps where you fish, lol.

AnonymousDon,t do that sort of fishing, but if I did, I would also use the Drennan barbless feeder, whenever I am feeding fishing for carp it is my number 1 hook.

TF_cormorantdazaster,
have you ever thought of hair-rigging youor deads on a bait ring ?
the choice of hook then becomes less of a problem, just use the hook you think/know will/has done the job to-date for you.
it works, believe me.
best wishes,

TF_ratneckwas using B911 for this, but changed to fox series 2 in size 20(bigger than norm sizes) for thsi weekend and didnt lose a fish, hook didnt bend either, i know thats not conclusive but they seem a very good hook which im gonna stick with for now! Thanks

dazaster1ParticipantCormorant, No i havn’t tried hair rigging them and to be honest i’m not sure how the bait ring works or who makes them if you could shed some light on this for me thanks.

TF_cormorantdazaster,
I believe that they are made by Korda but there are others (red) done by Waterline (I believe, as I never read the label !!! lol)
They are circular with a clip rather like a safety pin.
You just hang your maggots on then thread the ring thro’ the little loop on your hair rig before locking the clip and casting out. simple.
instructions come on every packet.
there are about 4-5 sizes from ex.small to large. I use the small size to clip about 6 maggots on generally.
I do know that Hansfords in Fareham have them in stock. Just ask for BAIT RINGS/RED.
good luck,
corm.
