TF_scrubbaHello All.
Anyone got any latest info or best way to approach a match on there. Heard that corn over pellet in the margins does well. Any ideas for other tactics and noted pegs.
Tight lines.

TF_scrubbaJust hoping for a good day. Would be nice to go somewhere with a bit of a head start. Might be why we don’t do very well in our matches if we don’t have up to tactics and info.

TF_i spy youI could not agree with you more Neil .It should be a good day if the weather improves . Not too sure about all the bait rules etc at moorlands though.

TF_Paul EdwardsHello Scrubba? Although I fish the opens at Moorlands I have never fished Island pool but listening to others the noted pegs are 13 which is under the tree on the left hand side (looking out the cafe) which is fished amongst the roots so strong tackle required, Peg 18 which is were the island is but is submerged and I think it is found at about 13/14m and is only about 18″ deep so once you have fed you can see tail patterns, and the other noted area is either peg 25 or 26 which I think is fished on a fairly short line of about 4/5m. All pools at the moment are responding to simple tactics of corn or pellet over pellet. But some lads were using white corn which can be purchased in the shop or maccaroni, I am not sure whether these are still working. I normally use 3/4 tins of corn and 2 bags of pellets and have consistently catching 80lbish just outside the frame. I hope this helps

nose45Paul is the water pipe comming in any good?

TF_Paul EdwardsI think the pipe peg is near 13 or 14 so I would assume so as 13 tends to frame quite often.

james16What about the far side opposite pegs 13 and 17 Paul? how are they doing do you know?

TF_Paul EdwardsI think the ones opposite 13 are 25 and 26 which I mentioned in an earlier post.

BlankaParticipantRoll on saturday then!
I think i had peg 13 last time we went, i left it too late before fishing in the margins (and roots!)but managed to bump my weight up enough for the frame, however now i know its a winning peg.
The rules aren’t that bad james, most fisheries would seem the same if they were wrote down clearly like moorlands, and i think it levels the playing field so to speak.

james16Yeah, it does make it more even especially when the pool is nearly full. I don’t fancy that corner peg i had last time though.

nose45Phil your peg wasnt even!!! you had the roots down the side and bagged the 1/2 an hour. All i had was a water pipe comming in and still didnt catch anything there.

TF_scrubbaAt last a reply about tactics! Only joking, thanks for the info Paul. No doubt everyone will be taking pellets and bleached corn now. Looks like the weather has improved, should be quite sunny and calm on Saturday. I will take some casters to fish up in the water with for a while and then fish down the edge with corn or meat. Hopefully a few of us will get decent weights, above 50lb would be good.
See you all on Saturday, or at the meeting.
