FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 8/11/15
Last week saw 58 rods catch 227 fish for an average of 3.91 per rod.
A good week with plenty of fish being caught particularly from the boats on both Cocks Close and Park Meadow pools. The bank has been a little more difficult with the fish harder to find but the better catches have come from where the wind is blowing into. The old boat jetty corner and the sand bank of Cocks Close have been the most consistent areas.
The best patterns have been Damsel, Diawl Bach, black Tadpole, black Buzzers, Montana Nymph and Cats Whisker.
The largest fish of the week was a 9lb rainbow caught by Jonathan Preston of Solihull who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and it fell to a Cats Whisker fished on a floating line. Paul Fleeman of Redditch fished catch and release on Cocks Close and caught 17 fish to 7lb using small Bloodworm patterns on a floating line. Alan Mann of Solihull caught six fish on Park Meadow including samples of 6lb and 5lb which all fell to Gold Head Damsels. Mr B Stubbs of Atherstone caught 11from a boat on Cocks Close and these came to Damsels and Minkies fished on a floating line.
