TF_gaz 85not that well 2 be honest with ya notts uni.i aint fished trent 2 many times need a lot more practice i rekon!!there wasnt a single barbel caught all day!! we fished above the wier it didnt fish that well at all with 13lb odd winning and at least three anglers not weighing in.My peg number was 7 but im guessing they were just numbered 4 the match but not sure?

Cream of notts uniParticipantbremes: peg 22 mate, first one in the car park on the left, it was flowing very fast, had to lay 3ft on in 3 ft of water to slow it down a little. the three i lost were bigger than the two i caught, i saw the two on the wag, one about 4 , one about 6, both on 4 maggots on the deck, the one on the bomb manned me off on 0.22, just ran, no chance of stopping it.
gaz85, did you live in howsham when you were younger by chance??think you will know me if so. if you need some help on fishing the trent just ask ppl on here or could even sort out a fishing session sometime before too long if you would like, get you up to speed

Cream of notts uniParticipantyou guessed right mate, how are you?
next time we get a sunny evening when we are both free we should take a trip down to laughterton or somewhere similar and I’ll run you through what i know if you fancy it. Once you get your head round it its probably the best venue in the country as far as enjoyment and potential catches go. drop us an email
also, brigg brittania meetings on a monday night are always a good source of info, and the club i fish with, winterton, are a very good club (division 1) and there is no shortage of very good anglers there who can help you out.
hope your well -

Cream of notts uniParticipantim fine thanks mate,
and your right about mal chambers, but i dont think the buckleys fish with us anymore (ROAB/queen bess are there clubs) .
I wouldnt worry about skill level, ive seen you fish, you do well, its a club first and foremost, not a match team, and you learn quicker when you fish in amongst better anglers.
im sure we are always on the lookout for new members, particularly younger anglers such as yourself, as there seems to be very few coming through the ranks at the mo sadly (as with all fishing in general)we fish a whole load of different venues throughout the year, commercials, canals(big and small) , natural stillwaters, rivers of all kinds. I dont think someone in your position could get a better grounding with any other club, especially around here.
Every one is very friendly too, we always have a good laugh on the bank. and i guarantee there will be one person you can beat just by baiting your hook for more than half a match………
drop us an email mate and i’ll send you some details if you like -
