I bought a MAP speed Pan 15″ diameter a while back and is excellent for up to 4lb fish, far easier to manouvere than a bigger one. It is bright bluee too! Cost £6-99 I recall.

I have a Preston fine mesh net think it’s 20″. Only problem is they catch the wind when wet and your hook gets stuck in them easily, they also attract your line for some reason.

Has to be Preston, strongest spreaders on the market IMO

Have a look at the rubber coated one from Buy-Good-Tackle. £11 with free postage. Got one last week. Really good product that dries with a shake and does not hold the stink.

I have a couple of the Maver nets which are very strong, lightweight and not bright blue.

Waterline do a fine mesh net.

Dimensions are perfect for scooping those just to big to swing F1’s (or adhere to ‘no swinging’ rules) and also gets an airing on canals.

I can’t remember what I paid but it was very reasonable.

Already have a rubba net and take what your saying about hooks coming straight off. Trouble i have been having is when using hairs with kwik stops so wanted the fine mesh but not the minging bright blue>preston i think. Thanks

Maver or Waterline – Trouble with the fine mesh is that on commercials they don’t last long before holes start appearing. Like Terryblaze says they definately help if you use quickstops often but there’s a lack durability compared to the standard mesh ones.

I’ve got a fine mesh Browning net and it’s superb for fish up to 5lb’s. Don’t get hair rigged pellets getting stuck in the mesh. Need to find a slightly bigger one tho’ as I appear to be catching bigger fish every time I go!
