Saw it at the Tackle & Guns Show.

Best box Preston have made by a country mile, however this is reflected in the price.

That said I have mine on order!!!

Made to a very high standard, all trays etc have FOX MSB style clips, box sits nice and low to floor……. I have a D36 Rive and have had a Fox MSB Euro…… I think Preston have taken all the best bits from these boxes and refined the rest.

Few clips on youtube if you are looking for info.

What was the weight like against the Rive d36 ? Im tempted to get one to replace my d25, Got some good features especially the hookbox system. Just looks a bit heavy. Cheers.

Very similar in weight to D36, however the build quality seems so much better.

Rubber seals placed between each unit to stop water ingress and to stop the box twisting with larger loads!!
Drawers that wont break with the slightest tap or get stuck under the seat!!
The seat is a sealed unit….. no chance of water ingress through pole strap or similar.
Unit clips are very well made and strong.
Also liking the fact that leg locking nuts are turned in against the box (facing forward) rather than sticking out taking up more room in the car!!

All boxes have their issues and im sure in the long run i will find a few with the Preston Box when in use…… but at the moment it ticks all boxes for me (excuse the pun!)

Saw it at the T&G show. Sat on it and the bump on the footplate irritated me and felt out of place. Considering the cost to Joe Public the quality of the welds were complete but left rough before the frame was coated, not a pretty finish. The cushion was reasonable to sit on but Milo still have it for me. Compared to my Milo the whole empty box weighed a ton and would hazard that it’s footprint was also bigger. Not a box to have if you ever have to car share.

Rest of the features thought out and I guess the gripes I’ve mentioned will be forgotten during a match.

I dont mind a bit of weight, went from asi s to milo m800 to Rives, i like the idea of the raised bar at the front when fishing long and the removable footplate, the hooklentgh box retaining system is a good thought. What i do like is the length of the legs which puts everything at a comfortable height and the box being set low to the ground.

I did notice the welds on the vid, could be a bit smoother 🙂 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q9nE9lVzOc&feature=related

Looks ok for what I presume is a pre production version. Not that I’m at all interested in changing from my Rive I would like to see one in the flesh so to speak, When will they hit the shops as I’m sure P.I will sell shed loads if the build quality is up to scratch,
