MrFoxmanFox msb euro all the way. They look good, Add-ons aren’t too expensive or you could just buy preston add ons, lots of storage and loads more great stuff. Plus you will have a few bob left over as they are around £400 ~clap

TF_Snooty FoxSteve,
You always offer sound advice on here so heres some for you…………
I have an original space station and its really sturdy. I’ve had it double legged on porth res and had to climb up it to sit on it, and it is STILL sturdy.
My mate has a £850 rive and has had sooooo much trouble with it.
By a space station and spend the £300 ‘change’ on summat else…

AnonymousMy mate has a Spacestation and it seems very heavy and difficult to move around. Difficult to get 2 boxes in the car. I agree that it is as solid as an oil platform in the North Sea but not sure i need something that solid. Im very concerned about getting it from A-B. I dont want to end up having another heart attack from lugging such a heavy box around!
Not sure about the Rive boxes. Seems to be very difficult to get a good look at these in my local tackle shops or from pictures on the Rive site. Which one and WHY? They seem very expensive for what they are at first glance.
I love the look of the Milo Redheart but i have only seen one place selling them and at £999 is out of my price range at the moment. Not sure i want everything in that package. So might find the price can be lowered significantly if some of the add ons are removed from the package. http://www.milo.it/en/Panieri/Panieri.asp
I also loved the look of the Milo box at the NEC show a few years ago. That was my dream box a few years ago. However, i have no idea which box that was or if it is still on the market. I,ve looked at the Milo site but cannot see that box. Any ideas, anybody?
Not had a good look at the Fox boxes yet. Which one and why?

TF_Snooty FoxSteve –
If you take the spare thingy (don’t know what there called) out of the middle of the space station they are relatively light mate.

AnonymousThat middle section is all of my old Brilo box that im planning on changing from. lol. Nothing much apart from the frame, foot plate and legs left if i remove that middle section and that weighs a ton. I have my mates Spacestation at my house at the moment so had a good look at it.
Think the Spacestation is out!

TF_S.shallai’v had a few over the last 18months, tourney, colmic, rive hsp d36, and a few others!!!
and for the last 6 months i’v had a fox msb1 which i’v no interest in changing!!rives 2 big, for normal cars esp 2 people! and if your short then putting drawers above frame becomes a problem! build quality is good but no better than the msb?? if you want an oil rig type? try an d25 st or even the new spacestation compact which is a lot smaller??
but you wont go far wrong with an msb i chose the original one with folding footplate as i didnt like the cassete type as id used a tourney for years!! also it saves a lot of space in the car! you can remove the base swap all the trays modules around? built in spirit levels really help!! comes with dividers!!! bout £340 if you shop around?
i prefer a folding footplate for fishing long as you can tilt it up a little on the footplate? and it sits low too the ground which also helps when fishing shallow and sitting side on, where as on oily rig types you either need a tub/bucket or i side footplate?
my next box will be another one!!

AnonymousAny issues over adding accessories from the other tackle companies to the legs/box or do you need to use only the Fox accessories with the Fox boxes?

TF_CutnutHad a Milo box for the last 8 years and I won’t be buying anything else. Any of the gel seat versions will be long lasting, built well with good materials. A secondhand one would be as good a buy as spending more on a new one.

TF_DecaffI’ve currently got a Rive, but as soon as i’ve got the spare cash i will be going back to The Tourny Pro Box,best box i’ve owned so far don’t know why i sold it for the Rive!
Loads of storage, comfortable & well priced, has it’s faults like all but outweighed by the plus points.
Should have had another buy now but it’s owner changed his mind when i turned up on his doorstep,so saving for a new un. -

TF_hjartathave had the Colmic ONE for a year now and i cant fault it, legs are 30mm, preston accesories fits if you dont use the inserts.

Regarding your question relating to fitting other manufacturers accessories to the Fox box, you basically have 2 Fox choices unless you go for an older Fox Stax. The Fox options right now are the MSB and the MSB Euro, and I you need a package with a footplate as standard this means either the MSB 1 or the MSB Euro 1.
Only differences I could find between them are that the MSB 1 has square legs and a folding footplate whilst the MSB Euro 1 has 25mm round legs and a sliding footplate.
I opted for the MSB Euro 1 because I felt the sliding footplate was more stable, but others may have their own thoughts on this. However, my previous box was a square legged version and swapping everything over to 25mm round legs is a problem unless you have Preston accessories, in which case swap the inserts for the green ones. As far as accessory fitting goes, it would ahve been a better decision to go for the MSB 1 for the square legs, but I wanted to sliding footplate.
I’m really pleased with it so far and back aches have been reduced because I can get the footplate at the optimal height for my legs, as it’s independent from the storage/seat section. You do get this with both of the Fox boxes and a few others, though.
When choosing the boxes, I did take into account what you got for the money, which ruled out Milo and Rive immediately as far as I was concerned. It also eliminated a lot of the new type of boxes wuith the cassette storage systems, as it appears to me that you need to spend a lot of money adding extra trays, drawers etc because the basic packages don’t seem to offer much storage space (I may be wrong on this, but that’s how it looked from the advertising blurb). I also ruled out the Preston and Maver ones as a matter of personal preference. The Matchbox options looked quite appealing, but didn’t offer anything my old box didn’t already give me. I’m also not a fan of wooden drawer systems, as I was concerned that they could be problematic in the wet once they’ve had a bit of abuse.

TF_stu.sHow much does the colmic “one” sell for roughly?

AnonymousThanks Man of Kent for the run down on the add ons for the Fox boxes. I agree over wooden draws. The wooden draws on my old Brilo dont close for 6 months of the year. Sometimes other anglers see a draw half open and try to help in closing it for me. It then takes me 30 minutes to get the bloody thing open again with the help of bank stick and a heavy handed approach!
Hjartat, Colmic is a company i did not even think about before now. I have checked out the range of seat boxes and im well impressed with what seems to be available from this company. However, i cannot find any prices for any of there better quality boxes. Im guessing Colmic are very big tackle company in Europe but very new to the British fishing tackle market. Where can i get a price list for the different seat noxes and who stocks the range of Colmic seat boxes in this country?
TJ, Platforms UK is another interesting option. The company is based in ST Helens which is only 10 miles up the road from me. So, maybe worth a visit to see the whole range and maybe get a customized box to suit my needs.
