AnonymousHi,
im looking for a new comfortable box that will keep my 19 stone body comfy and sturdy but my big problem is that my box MUST have at least 3-4 front drawers for bits and bobs and some side cross drawers for line, rigs etc,,,is there such a box????? -

TF_mart4666nowt wrong with the matrix box IMO, everyone has there views , its a bit like poles. in my opinion its better than the rive d36 i had before, and yes my drawers open and im 23st.
the seat in my opinion is ok for about 4hrs but then again all seats are like that after 4hrs for me . my advice would be go to a good shop , try them all , sit on them and try the drawers, seat height, seat comfortone will stand out as been better for you personally. it seems not all matrix boxes open when sat on. all drawers work within a tolerance band and if tolerances on a particular draw are tight then it will stick when sat on.
ps i dont think my matrix is the ultimate box for me but at this moments its a good box in general. i’d like to see one of the new absolute boxes ………….. 🙂 -

TF_moto46Well I have owned a Matrix Superbox for a while now and I have not had any issues at all and can honestly say for me it is the best box I have owned to date (I have owned many over the years).
Best thing to do is try some for yourself in shops/shows so it meets your own preferences but you will not have any quality issues with a Matrix as you will with many others on the market.

TF_gaz rI own a matrix box to and also had a fair few other boxs rive, octbox, daiwa and many more but matrix box is the best ive owned upto now but i also liked the orignal fox msb and the trays/draws etc fit the matrix, the draws on mine open as they should but the footplate can be a bit tight but apart from that im happy with the box.

TF_shipoHi,
I also am a big lad and i bought a Daiwa Tournament 400 Seat Box best box i have sat on. Yes it’s heavy but it comes with wheel kit but only used it once coz most places i go you can park behind you, side draws which open when sat on box. I know it does not have normal front draws but the detachable base with the draws in and more storage i think is brill, plus take it out of the box makes the box a lot lighter if you need to. Used now for two years and still very happy, plus some great deals on them now. Hope this helps -

Anonymousthanks for the replies, i use a daiwa 300 box at the moment which has been a great box except for the cushion seems to hurt the base of my spine sometimes and i find myself moving around on it to stop the hurt.I am still looking at boxes at the moment, but when i find one i will tell you what i got 🙂

TF_mike pattinsonPunchmeat, like you I had the same painful problem with my Rive, I found the seat to soft so I’ve made my own seat (from marine ply, high density foam and heavy duty leatherette) which is a bit more comfortable and what a difference it has made.
I’ve used my second hand rive for a few years now, don’t use front draws anymore just side draws. Have a selection of trays and draws which allows me to carry just what I want for the venue.
Stack system allows essentials to be available at hand.

TF_markcI’ve had my Matchbox for well over 10 years now, top quality boxes.
Take a look at their current range here http://www.matchboxtackle.eu/index.htm
Plenty that meet your spec 🙂 -

TF_macca63Owned a Milo Tardis for a couple of years and eventually sold the thing as I was fed up with the front drawers filling up with water when it rained. The Colmic One and SiWi boxes both have the same polycarbonate drawers [all appear to be made in the same factory in Italy] so can see the same thing happening with these too. I have moved to a Fox MSB a couple of seasons back and I can honestly say its the best box I’ve used.

TF_baitchefParticipantIm still using a knackered old six draw Boss box mainly due to the fact that i don’t fish much these days due to work. But if i was to buy a new one i would definitely look at something that you can actually put in the water and still be stable. The old height adjustment footplate nugget still does my head in (or lack of) but there doesn’t seem to ba a trend for that sort of thing at the moment, so i suppose you just have to make do.
The boss box still gets a few laughs though 😀
