TF_KennybIt seems that the Nick Gilbert range of hollow elastic’s is becoming increasingly popular with match anglers in our area. I have been on Ebay and noticed that there are a number of different types of NG elastics some even have the same diameter but a different colour and am I now a little confused . I need an elastic for shallow fishing for F1’s so must be soft enough to allow the fish to leave the swim without any problems but be strong enough to control decent carp that you may hook. I would also like a forum member to recommend a NG elastic for margin fishing for larger F1’s and carp on a typical snag free snake lake.

TF_Col_WI use the Fluor green twin core for nearly all my F1 & carp up to 4lb fishing, very similar to white hydro but with a bit less stretch & powers up quicker.
The yellow twin core is my choice for carp over 4lb & margin work in snag free open water, similar to black hydro.
Give them a try u won’t be disappointed m8 🙂 -

TF_KennybHi Col/Nick
Thank you for your speedy responses.
Nick
I notice you sell 3 different kinds of hollow elastic
Can you tell me the difference please between the amber hollow, hollow core and the micro bore. It is just that I like to use very soft elastic for my F1 fishing even in summer and want to be sure I choose the right one.
Thanks again

TF_Nick GilbertGo for the amber cored as it is initially soft but will power up, it stretches a little more than the other two.

TF_Staff BullI’ve been using the green and yellow all summer and it’s as good as anything else I’ve ever used. I won’t be using hydro again as I think the NG elastic is a lot better. It’s more hard wearing and mine hasn’t rotted or shown any signs of perishing. I’ve had it ripped through brambles and reeds and it’s still sound.

TF_iansi01354Kennyb, if you are after amber core as Nick says I’d recommend the green amber core for F1’s unless its stockie F1’s under a pound.
Use the black for carp……not used the green amber core much as been using the green white core but the black is awesome, just under a black hydro IMO.
Just got some of the purple to try for munters down the edge but not used it yet.

TF_MatchcarpYep I’ve tried the amber yellow and found it very good, going to experiment with other grades over the coming months.

TF_KennybHi All
Thanks for the responses they have been really helpful.
I have only been using hollow elastics for the past twelve months and like the Matrix yellow and fluro however Matrix have changed the elastic and now call it “stay fresh” and have increased the price and I don’t want to spend a small fortune on the untried Matrix if the NG is as good as everyone is stating

TF_smudgeUsed the micro bore 8-12 (Dark Blue) for the first time yesterday had carp to about 5lb along with lots of F1s fishing up in the water it work perfectly it allowed the fish to dive from baited area quickly but stopped them just as fast when the laccy loaded up.

TF_Nick GilbertJust a quick correction the 8-12 is light blue 😀
Should have the next grade up in about 3 weeks around a 10-14.
