Report:
Another good turnout enjoyed a good day’s sport, helped by the fact that the Fishery staff had trimmed back the foliage on the islands and removed as many snags as they were able to identify.
Goerge Robinson, fishing his first Nisa Open was on peg A11 and had an excellent match to win on the day with a superb 203-12. He started on the method feeder, then switched to slapping on the long pole, and pellet waggler, before concentrating on pole short and pole in the margins in the latter stages to keep putting fish into his nets.
John Adamson on peg A15 fished method feeder for the whole match to amass a weight of 191-00 of carp for second place, with Ricky Arms (peg B17) in third with 165-07 and Shane Sayers (B14) in fourth both catching on the method feeder before switching to pole and paste on the margins in the latter stages.
Tom Calladine was fifth on peg B21 (mainly on the method feeder) with Oliver Sleath taking sixth place from peg B7, catching his fish late from the margins on pole and paste.
Many thanks to Rob Lowe for weighing in. Photos show the top two.
NB. Nisa Opens are held every Wednesday on Lake Two at Makins Fishery (see Facebook “Nisa – midweek open matches” to book a place).
