        REPORT

MOLANDS Not in the best of form through the week and the carp were spawning again towards the weekend. Method feeder or pellet fished tight up to the island has been the best for carp with fish to 13lb weighed in during matches this week. Banded 6mm pellet, polony and dead red maggot have been the best baits on the feeder. The F1’s have been localised and pegs 44 – 49 and 56 – 60 have been the best areas for these with pole and pellet working best. Mixed nets of skimmers, crucians and F1’s also coming to the long pole with chopped worm and caster.

GEARYS Much more consistent with carp in the 4 – 6lb bracket showing all around the pool. ‘Pinging’ 8mm pellets with a banded 8mm on the straight lead or method feeder have both accounted for good nets with individual fish to double figures coming out. The bigger bream have also started to feed better and shallow pole with banded 6mm pellet or chopped worm and caster have accounted for nets to over 60lb. Best pegs are 7 – 15, 17, 19 – 21, 24 and 30 – 32.

LITTLE GEARYS More consistent this week with the fish spread all around the pool. The best tactic has been to feed micro pellet at 10 – 13 metres and fish a 6mm expander over the top for mixed bags of F1’s, skimmers and tench, occasionally going shallow to pick up the bigger fish. Top pegs are 1, 7 – 11, 17, 21, 25 28.

GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers have enjoyed terrific sport
