MOLANDS Fished very well through the week but the very cold conditions at the weekend saw sport affected badly. Carp to 12lb, bream to 5lb, tench to 5lb and lots of crucians and F1’s were coming out in the week with both pole fished short at 3 – 6 metres or the method feeder/pellet feeder fished tight across working well. Best baits are dead maggot, expander pellet, 6mm banded hard pellet or small pieces of meat. The top pegs are 2 – 4, 15 – 17, 29 – 31, 44 – 46 and 56 – 58.
GEARYS This is another pool that was affected by the cold snap at the weekend. During the week it was fishing very well with carp showing well to shallow waggler and pellet and fish to 15lb have been caught on this along with bream to 4lb. At the weekend the carp disappointed and it was the bream and skimmers that made up most of the catches with pole fished expander working best.
LITTLE GEARYS The most consistent pool over the week with catches of F1’s, skimmers, carp and crucians being caught all around the pool and match weights to over 40lb with pleasure anglers enjoying bigger catches particularly in the evening. Shallow pole with hard pellet or a feeder up to the island continue to be the best tactics. Top pegs are 4, 7 – 12 and 23 – 28.
GRATUITIES Fishing really well for tench with fish to 6lb coming to the straight lead and pellet fished up to the island. Catches of carp in the 1 – 3lb bracket, crucians and tench also coming to the pole with expander pellet fished over micros or ground bait with corn working as a good alternative bait. Best pegs are 1, 3, 8, 11, 12 and 15.
WILLOW Some cracking carp being caught with quite a few doubles showing last week, with the worm, corn or meat accounting for the better fish. Plenty of skimmers, crucians and roach are coming to expander pellet, caster or maggot.
ANNIVERSARIES Loads of fish on caster or maggo
