FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 10/1/16
Last week 65 rods caught 245 fish for an average of 4.02.
There have been lots of fish caught in the 4 – 9lb range this week topped by a 9lb 4oz rainbow caught by Mr R Mils of Rugby who was fishing the bank of Cocks Close. Father and son, Jonathan and Ben Preston had fish of 8lb 9oz and 8lb 8oz whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and these came to a black Buzzer and a silver sparkler Lure. Ian Reeve of Ruby had an 8lb 12oz rainbow from Cocks Close and this fell to a black Tadpole fished on an intermediate line. Fishery regular Rod Lacey of Nuneaton caught and returned 11 fish to 9lb using his favoured Diawl Bach on a floating line whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close.
The boat anglers have been fishing better than the bank anglers with the fish holding just out of range on some areas but the old boat jetty corner and the high bank have been best for the bank anglers.
Small Nymphs have been working well this week with Diawl Bach, black Buzzers, Montana Nymph, GRHE and Damsel the most popular. There are still plenty of fish also coming to Lures such as Cats Whisker, black Tadpole and white Minkies.
