        REPORT

MOLANDS Match weights and pleasure catches were lower last week but with the hot bright conditions the fish started to spawn again. The bigger carp were sitting on the top for most of the week with surface tactics accounting for fish to over 15lb and in the matches, candle or pellet waggler scored best. Shallow pole with pellet was the best approach for F1’s, skimmers and the odd bonus carp. Top areas have been pegs 2 – 8,
        12 – 17, 27 – 33, 40 – 48 and 52 – 56.

GEARYS Steady but not spectacular sport last week but there were lots of 50lb+ nets of carp and skimmers in matches with pleasure anglers reporting nets to around 80lb. The carp have been cruising around all over the pool and surface feeding with bread, floating boilies or dog biscuit has accounted for the better catches. In the matches, straight lead, candle or pellet waggler has been producing the better nets. Top pegs are 1, 2, 7 – 15,
        19 – 21, 27, 31, 32 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Much better this week with match weights to 100lb and good nets being caught all around the pool. Plenty of different tactics working but pole fished shallow with 6mm pellet or method feeder fished tight to the island are both working well. Top pegs 3, 5, 7 – 13, 19 – 23 and 26 – 29.

GRATUITIES The middle pegs along both straight banks have been in the best form with pegs 3 – 6 and 10 – 14 doing well. Pellet or method feeder fished really tight to the island is working for carp in the 1 – 5lb range with polony, expander pellet or punched bread on the hook. Float fished paste or pellet is also doing well for mixed nets of carp, crucians, tench and skimmers.

SIBLINGS Carp to double figures are coming out to surface baits with dog biscuit or big expanders fished on a controller. Float fished meat or expander pellet fished over ground bait has been working well for big skimmers, tench and crucian carp with the pegs on the middle point the best areas.

WILLOW Always popular, Willow has been in good form particularly in the afternoon/evening sessions where decent size carp patrol the near margin and fish to
14lb were caught last week. Float fished meat, corn or paste is picking out the better samples. Good nets of skimmers, rudd, crucians and F1’s are coming to pole fished pellet, caster or maggot as well.

ANNIVERSARIES The carp were spawning at the weekend which slowed down sport. Anglers fished the pellet or caster caught plenty of silvers and the odd big tench. Best pegs have been around the top point from 2 – 6 or on the far side on 20 – 23.
