        REPORT

MOLANDS The very cold weather throughout the week which saw the fishery completely frozen on a couple of days and it has made the fishing a lot more difficult on all of the pools. There have been some good nets caught by anglers practicing for the Sensas Challenge with mixed nets of quality roach, tench and skimmers coming to the worm or caster over ground bait. The regulars have stuck to the pellet feeder and catches to 30lb of F1’s and carp have been caught on this with bread or hard pellet on the hook. Top pegs 13 – 17, 23 – 27, 43 – 49 and 52 – 58.

GEARYS The skimmers are providing the best action with nets to 30lb being caught on long pole and caster or pellet or a small ground bait feeder fished at 25 – 30 yards. The high bank from pegs 1 – 13 and 16 – 18 has been the best area.

LITTLE GEARYS Still fishing quite hard with F1’s showing all around the pool in nets to 30lb but the catches are down from what you would expect in mid March. Long pole with pellet or pellet feeder to the island have been the best tactic and pegs 7 – 13 or 25 – 29 remains the best pegs.

GRATUITIES Carp provided the bulk of most catches but again nets were down and 25lb was winning matches. On the end pegs 1, 8, 9, 15 and 16 dobbing bread on the pole has worked best and along the straights a small pellet feeder with meat or punched bread on the hook.

ANNIVERSARIES This pool has gone quite clear with the cold nights but the deeper water at the far end is still providing plenty of skimmers, roach and the odd tench and carp to pole fished pellet or caster.

WILLOW Waggler or feeder fished to the island is working best for catches of carp and F1’s. Long pole fished down the middle with pellet or caster is catching plenty of skimmers from 6oz to 1½lb and the odd tench, quality roach and carp.
