MOLANDS Like most of the pools, a restocking of F1’s in the week improved sport considerably, 2000 fish between 8oz and 2lb were stocked into Molands. Match weights to over 70lb have been caught with pole and pellet or maggot the best approach. Pellet feeder fished tight to the island is working for carp with fish to 12lb caught this week. Top pegs are 2 – 8, 15 – 21, 29, 45 – 48 and 55 – 58.
GEARYS Carp anglers using big boilies have caught fish to 16lb fishing out to the middle stumps with pegs 9 – 13 and 31 – 36 best for this approach. Mixed nets of skimmers, roach and small carp are coming to pole fished maggot or caster fished over ground bait.
LITTLE GEARYS The introduction of 1000 F1’s has improved the action on Little Gearys and by the weekend, the fishing was excellent with good nets being taken from all around the pool. The fish are coming down the margins more and caster or maggot fished right into the bank is working well. Pellet feeder and long pole and pellet also catching plenty of carp and F1’s also. Top pegs are 7 – 11 and 21 – 29.
GRATUITIES Carp are being caught on punched bread or maggot on the waggler up to the island. Close in down the margins is also starting to give good results with bread or corn working for carp to 8lb. Mixed nets of roach, skimmers, crucians and tench are being caught on pole and caster or maggot.
SIBLINGS A The new Siblings pools have both been restocked and early results are very encouraging with pleasure anglers enjoying great sport. A small waggler with pellet or maggot fished across to the island or long pole and pellet have accounted for F1’s to 3lb and carp to 10lb. Match weights to 80lb were caught last week.
SIBLINGS B The best weight so far this year came off Siblings B, a 97lb bag of F1’s caught fishing at 3 metres with pellets. Carp, tench and skimmers are also going with float fishing tactics working best.
WILLOW Pole and pellet is working well for mixed nets of F1’s, skimmers, carp and the odd tench. A pellet waggler fished tight up to the island is also worth a try for big F1’s and carp to 5lb.
