Last week there were 169 rods who caught 511 fish for an average of three per rod.
The very warm and sunny weather made sport a little more difficult over the past week but despite this, there were still plenty of fish caught.
The largest fish of the week was an 8lb 12oz caught by Mr G O’Neill of Birmingham who was fishing the Great Pool from a boat and he took it on a red Buzzer on a floating line. On Cocks Close, fishery regular Ben Foo Collyer of Solihull caught and released 18 fish including six over 4lb and these all came to a Cats Whisker fished on an intermediate line. Colin England of Kenilworth caught fish to over 4lb in a five fish catch from a boat on Park Meadow and these came to a GRHE fished on a floating line.
On the Hall Pool, Dave Bevan of Birmingham had seven fish and these all came to a GRHE Nymph. Dave Bratby of Birmingham caught and released nine fish to over 4lb using a team of small Buzzers on a floating line. The top patterns are Damsel Nymph, GRHE, Montana Nymph, Bloodworm, P T Nymph, Cats Whisker and black Tadpole. During the brighter days, Lures fished slow and deep have worked best but during overcast periods, the small nymphs and even dries have been the best option.
The hotspots are the high bank and jetty on Cocks Close. The middle island down to the shallower water on Great Pool and the dam walls on Hall Pool and Park Meadow.

Packington Trout Fishery week ending April 3rd, 2011
Last week there were 117 rods who caught 569 fish for an average of 4.86.
It was another excellent week on the fishery with all the pools fishing really well to a variety of tactics. Lures fished on intermediate lines with Cats Whiskers, black Tadpole, Minkies and Fritz patterns have accounted for a lot of fish but imitative patterns such as Damsels, black or olive Buzzers, Bloodworm, Diawl Bach and GRHE are also scoring well at the moment.
On the Day Ticket water Cocks Close, both boat and bank anglers are doing well with the wires bank and the high bank the best areas. On the members’ lakes, Great Pool is still fishing superbly well with lots of fish moving to Buzzers and the shallow water to the left of the jetty is the hotspot.
The best fish of the week was an estimated 12lb rainbow caught and safely released by Andrew Mein of Nuneaton who was fishing from a boat on Great Pool and caught a total of seven fish to Damsel Nymph and Hares Ear Nymph. Mr M Toth of Warwick caught a 9lb 8oz rainbow from the bank of Cocks Close. Ray Inman of Birmingham took fish of 7lb and 5lb on Buzzers on a floating line during a session on the Park Meadow pool. Alistair Boyes and Ben Foo-Collyer shared a boat on Cocks Close and caught and released a total of 24 including fish to 8lb and these all came to Cats Whiskers and Loynton Guinea.

Packington Trout Fishery week ending March 28th, 2011
Last week there were 181 rods who caught 728 fish for an average of just over four per rod.
It was another excellent week on all of the pools. The warmer weather has certainly increased the fly life and there are lots of fish moving to Buzzers throughout the day.
The biggest fish of the week was a 12lb rainbow caught by Raymond Mole of Sutton Coldfield who was fishing from a boat on the Great Pool and he took it on a Damsel Nymph fished on a floating line. Belgian visitor, Jan Martans fished the Great Pool and his very first trout ever was a 10lb rainbow which fell to a black Buzzer fished on a floating line. Mr J Platt of Solihull fished from a boat on Cocks Close and caught a five fish limit weighing 19lb and included a 7lb 8oz rainbow amongst them and all of these fell to a Damsel Nymph. Dave Robinson took five fish and returned a further six whilst fishing from a boat on Park Meadow and he caught an 8lb rainbow as well. Th
