MOLANDS Molands is fishing really well at the moment with weights to over 100lb winning matches. Big F1’s and carp are making up the weights with these coming to a variety of tactics. Big maggot, caster or banded hard pellet fished down the inside margin has produced the biggest nets but long pole and caster or pellet feeder fished tight to the island is also working well. Most pegs are capable of producing decent nets but the flyers have been 2, 8 – 12, 19, 27, 43 – 46 and 58 – 60.
GEARYS Still a little up and down but on the better days big carp have been coming out with fish to 17lb weighed in the matches. The best tactic has been to fish corn or dead maggot down the margins fished over ground bait. Bomb and pellet are also producing a few fish. The skimmers are still showing along the high bank with nets to over 40lb coming to pole and pellet. Top pegs are 7 – 13, 19, 20 and 31 – 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished a lot better this week with plenty of nets from 30 – 50lb and winning catches to over 80lb. F1’s, carp and skimmers made up the catches with long pole and expander pellet or short pole with chopped worm and caster accounting for the better bags. Top pegs have been 7 – 9, 15 – 25 and 29.
GRATUITIES Another pool that has fished well through the week with carp, tench, skimmers, crucians and some big perch caught this week. Pole and caster or pellet has worked well for mixed nets to 40lb. Pellet feeder with meat or punched bread has worked better for carp with fish in the 1 – 4lb bracket showing well. Best pegs 1, 2, 8
and 11 – 13.WILLOW The feeder fished to the island has worked well with F1’s and carp coming to punched bread, Polony or soft pellet. Pegs 1 – 6 have all been fishing reasonably well to this tactic.
ANNIVERSARIES A quiet week in terms of number of anglers but those that fished, enjoyed decent sport with worm, caster and expander pellet catching plenty of fish. Skimmers, perch, roach and F1’s going well with the odd tench and bigger carp and bonus fish. Best pegs 1 – 6, 15 and 19 – 23.
