MOLANDS After an icy start to the week with the pool ¾ frozen on Monday, sport picked up through the week as it gradually got a little milder. F1’s are feeding well on certain areas with pegs 15 – 19, 36 – 38 and 43 – 54 producing lots of fish on the pole and pellet and maggot. On the other areas decent sized skimmers to 3lb and a few carp are coming to the open end or pellet feeder fished just short of the island.
GEARYS A little tough this week with skimmers still feeding best but catches were down on previous weeks. Pole fished pellet or caster on the high bank or a small open end feeder with red maggot on the other areas have been the best tactics. A few carp showing with pegs 18, 31 and 32 chucking out to the middle stumps producing the odd fish into double figures.
LITTLE GEARYS The far bank from pegs 7 – 14 has been in best form producing good nets of F1’s, skimmers and a few tench and carp. The near bank has been a bit more patchy but the bigger F1’s up to 5lb have been showing along the island with bread punch on the waggler or a small method pushing out the better fish.
GRATUITIES Lots of carp in the 1 – 2lb bracket and tench to 5lb caught this week. The better pegs have been 1 – 3 and 10 – 14 with the pole fished pellet or maggot and a small pellet feeder fished tight to the island.
ANNIVERSARIES In good form for skimmers and quality roach with pole fished pellet or caster working best. There have been a few bigger carp caught this week with the best, a 15lb taken from peg 1 on red strawberry boilies.
CRESCENT The tench have been feeding well this week on Crescent with anglers reporting catches of up to 10 fish to 4lb along with carp to 6lb and some quality roach to 1lb. Pole with pellet, caster or worm has accounted for the better catches.
