MOLANDS Fishing better all round the pool with mixed nets of F1’s, skimmers, crucians and tench coming to paste, caster or worm fished close down the near margin. Carp are responding better to the method feeder or pellet feeder fished across to the island with meat, polony, dead red maggot or 6mm banded pellet accounting for fish to 10lb. Ken of Meriden had 10 fished to 14lb using a small method feeder and straight lead with pellet on peg 27. Best pegs are 10 – 14, 19, 27, 31 – 33, 39 – 44, 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Pleasure anglers have had some cracking bags of carp with fish to 17lb showing this week. Regular visitor John Johnson of Birmingham had 26 fish to 10lb fishing 8mm pellet on the straight lead on peg 17 and these were caught in a short three hour evening session. Good nets of skimmers and crucians/brown goldfish also being caught all around the pool, with paste or pellet fished short the best tactic. Top pegs are
7 – 12, 17, 19 and 25.LITTLE GEARYS The best tactic has been to fish to the island with a straight lead with 8mm or 6mm banded pellet or bread and this has been producing some excellent nets of F1’s with fish to 5lb coming to this. Pellet, caster or paste is working well for mixed nets either fished tight into the nearside margin or out at 8 – 10 metres. Best pegs 7- 11, 21 – 23 and 26 – 29.
GRATUITIES Been a little tougher with the tench a little pre-occupied with spawning. Carp to 8lb coming to surface baits with plenty of smaller samples being caught on a method or open end feeder fished across to the island. Best pegs 1, 2 8, and 12- 15.
ANNIVERSARIES This pool is very popular at the moment with most anglers enjoying superb activity with mixed nets of tench, crucians, skimmers, rudd and roach. Float fished maggot, caster or expa
