FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 22/12/13
Last week 55 rods caught 160 fish for an average of 2.90.
It was a mixed week with some wet and windy weather making for difficult conditions to fish in.
The best fish of the week was a 9lb 14oz rainbow caught by Mr A Griffiths of Birmingham who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he tempted it on a Cats Whisker Lure fished on an intermediate line. Ray Cramp of Coventry fished small Buzzers on a floating line from a boat on Cocks Close and he caught eight fish to
3½lb. Fishery regular Dave Bratby fished from the bank of Cocks Close and caught and returned nine fish to 4lb on a small Gold Head Damsel Nymph.
The best areas on Cocks Close have been the old boat jetty corner, the platforms on the high bank and out by the middle willows.
Top flies are Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, Damsel Nymph, black or olive Buzzers, Bloodworm and GRHE.
