FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 30/1/11
Last week 73 rods caught 138 fish for an average of 1.89.
It was a lot more difficult this week with the very cold easterly winds followed by the pools icing up at the weekend.
Colin England caught the best fish of the week, an 8½lb rainbow taken from the Park Meadow pool and this came to a GRHE fished on a floating line. Ray Inman of Birmingham continues his good run of bigger fish with an 8lb rainbow caught from a boat on Cocks Close and this fell to a Cats Whisker fished on an intermediate line. George Jackson of Hinckley caught eight fish to over 3lb which were caught from a boat on Cocks Close and these all fell to white Boobies fished on a sinking line. Ian Nelson of Solihull had a five fish catch from the Great Pool including fish to 4lb and these came to a Woolly Bugger Lure.
Best patterns are Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, Gold Head Damsel, Bloodworm, Fritz Lure, Minkie and small Nymphs such as Diawl Bach or GRHE.
The best areas are the road bank and the high bank on Cocks Close.

FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 16/1/11
Last week 126 rods caught 317 fish for an average of 2.52.
The milder weather saw an increase in rods and for most, the fishing was very good. Both boat and bank anglers enjoyed decent sport with the fish spread across the pools.
The best fish of the week was a 10lb 8oz rainbow caught by Ian Nelson of Solihull who was fishing Park Meadow pool and took it on a black Gold Head Lure. On the Day Ticket water Cocks Close, Matthew Bird of Atherstone had a 9lb 12oz rainbow which came to a black Buzzer fished under an indicator. Mr M Ali of Coventry had a rainbow of 9lb 8oz in a 5 fish catch from a boat on Cocks Close and this fell to a Cats Whisker Lure. Ian Thompson of Coventry took a five fish limit which included fish to 5lb 11oz and these all came to a Bloodworm pattern on the indicator.
Generally black or white Lures fished on immediate lines are producing the most fish but olive, black or red Buzzer and Bloodworm varieties have been working well fished under a sight indicator.
The hotspots have been the high bank and the road bank on Cocks Close, the shallow water on Great Pool and the far bank of Park Meadow.
