Cooler weather through the past few weeks has allowed us to feed the fish in the lake and maintain their condition, coupled with a large initial stocking of rainbows from 2 – 14lb the opening should be special.

FISHERY REPORT – WEEK ENDING 25/7/10
Last week there were 70 rods caught 80 fish for an average of 1.15.
The Fishery will close on August 1st for six weeks and weather permitting will re-open on Saturday 18th September.
Ray Cramp of Coventry had another good day this week fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and catching nine fish to 3lb on a small black Lure fished on a floating line. Mark Goldney of Nuneaton had a five fish limit from the bank with fish to 2lb falling to a Montana Nymph.
On the members’ waters, Ray Martin of Sutton Coldfield had four fish from a boat on Park Meadow pool. These came to a small P T Nymph and a black Buzzer fished on a floating line. The biggest rainbow of the week was 3lb 4oz caught in a four fish bag by Mr N Butler of Fillongley who fished a black Lure on a floating line on Cocks Close.

FISHERY REPORT – WEEK ENDING 18/7/10
Last week there were 78 rods caught 72 fish for an average of just under one per rod.
It has been another difficult week with most struggling for the odd fish. Ray Cramp of Coventry bucked the trend a little by taking two five fish limits from a boat on Cocks Close which all came to small Fritz Lures fished on a floating line and he included a 4½lb blue trout in his catch. Mick Hill of Birmingham took five fish from the bank of Cocks Close and these all fell to his own tied fly. Mr C Barnes of Earl Shilton took four from a boat on Cocks Close and they all fell to Montana Nymphs fished on a floating line.
The best areas on Cocks Close have been the sand bank and wires bank and the top flies are Montana Nymphs, GRHE, black Buzzer, Fritz Lures and big Damsel Nymphs.
Catch and release has now been suspended on Cocks Close and prices are: 5 fish will be £20.00, 2 fish £13.00, evening ticket (from 4pm) £10.00, OAP will be £10.00 (except on Mondays, which will be £8.00). Cocks Close will close for a summer break on Sunday 1st August and re-open on Saturday 25th September. The members’ waters will remain open during this period.
