FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 2/3/14
Last week 71 rods caught 245 fish for an average of 3.50.
The fishing on Cocks Close has been very good over the past week with the boat anglers particularly doing well.
The biggest rainbow was a 7lb fish caught and returned by Jonathan Preston of Solihull who was sharing a boat on Cocks Close with his son Jack. They caught a total of seven fish between them including the big one and all of the fish fell to either a Cats Whisker or black Fry pattern. Mr P O’Brien of Coventry caught six fish to 5lb 8oz whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and these all came to a Damsel Nymph fished on a floating line. Ade Cooper of Maxstoke fished the bank on Cocks Close and caught five fish to 5lb using his own tied special Damsel fished on a floating line.
On the members’ water Park Meadow, Derek Bevan of Birmingham fished from a boat and caught six fish to 4lb using a small Fritz Lure on a floating line. Peter Wrigley of Nuneaton caught seven fish to 5lb 4oz using small Buzzers.
The best areas have been the middle willows and the high bank of Cocks Close. On the Park Meadow pool, the far side from the boat jetty is the best area.
