FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 24/3/13
Last week 36 rods caught 100 fish for an average of 2.77.
Another incredibly cold week with rod numbers declining as the weather got worse through the week. The fishing though has been good with most anglers enjoying decent sport
Andy Gudger of Allesley and Geoff Hadley of Stafford shared a boat on Cocks Close and caught 11 fish each with the largest going 6lb 14oz for Geoff which won the biggest fish of the week. They both caught on Damsel Nymph and Buzzers fished on floating lines. Dave Wollaston of Warwick caught nine fish to 6lb 10oz on Gold Head Damsels whilst fishing from the bank of Cocks Close. Less Watson of Coventry caught five fish to 4lb from a boat on Cocks Close and these all came to white Lures. Ade Cooper of Maxstoke fished the bank amongst all the snow on Sunday and amazingly caught on small CDC dries with fish moving all over the pool on Cocks Close, his biggest fish went just over 6lb.
The top areas this week have been the old boat jetty, the high bank and the sandbank on Cocks Close.
Most anglers have caught on Damsels, black Buzzer, Bloodworm or white Lures with floating lines working best.
The fishery opens at 8am and closes at dusk.
