FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 15/5/16
Last week 76 rods caught 269 fish for an average of 3.54 per rod.
The fishing has been in decent form over the past week and despite the bright conditions fish have been moving well on both Cocks Close and Park Meadow pools. Dry flies have been working well with CDC Emergers, dry Olives, Hawthorn patterns and black Gnat all taking fish. Small black or olive Buzzers are also working well.
The largest fish was a 10lb rainbow caught by Clive Squires of Coventry who was fishing from a boat on Park Meadow and it was the best of a nine fish catch taken on a Peacock and Black. Robert White of Lapworth fished the bank of Cocks Close and caught eight fish, five taken and three released including a brown estimated around 6lb. Mr A Lunn of Bromsgrove had a catch and release ticket and caught 23 rainbows and three browns which all came to small black dries whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close. Mr D Troth of Coventry had one at 6lb on a black dry fly whilst fishing Cocks Close on an evening ticket and this was the best of a four fish bag.
The best areas on Cocks Close have been along the road bank and the high bank with the boat anglers catching well around the middle willows. On Park Meadow, the fish have been moving well all over the pool.
