FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 20/12/15
Last week 54 rods caught 214 fish for an average of just 4 per rod.
There were a lot of good sized fish caught last week topped by a 15lb rainbow which was safely returned by Rod Lacey of Nuneaton who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close. Rod caught the fish on a black Buzzer fished on a floating line and was the best of an 11 fish catch which included three others over 5lb. Ray Inman of Birmingham also caught and returned 11 fish with his best going around the 10lb mark and these all came to a Bloodworm pattern fished on a floating line from Cocks Close. Paul Fleeman of Redditch had an 18 fish catch from a boat on Cocks Close with his best weighing in at 8lb 2oz and again Bloodworm on a floating line was the successful tactic. Gary Owen of Leicester fished the Park Meadow pool and caught and returned 16 fish to 5lb and these all fell to a pink Bloodworm pattern fished on a floating line.
Top patterns have been Bloodworm, Damsel Nymph, Buzzers, Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, GRHE and Blobs.
The best areas have been along the high bank and old boat jetty corner on Cocks Close, with the deeper water in the middle of Park Meadow the most consistent area on there.
THE FISHERY WILL BE CLOSED CHRISTMAS DAY, BOXING DAY AND NEW YEARS DAY BUT OPEN FROM 8am ON ALL OTHER DAYS.
