FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 29/7/12
Last week 70 rods caught 65 fish for an average of 1.07.
The very hot and bright weather saw most anglers struggling but there were a few that mastered the conditions.
The pick of the waters was Great Pool, which provided a few fish down in the deep water by the dam wall. Dennis Tidmarsh of Birmingham caught five on a Cats Whisker fished on a sinking line and Ian Jones of Leicester used small Buzzers on a floating line and also caught five fish up to 3lb. Kevin Brookes and John Kingslake of Tamworth shared a boat on Cocks Close and caught five between them with Cats Whisker again the successful fly.
The Day Ticket Fishery, Cocks Close, will close next Sunday 5th August and will re-open on Saturday 15th September. The members’ pools will remain open during this period.
