FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 7/6/15
Last week 103 rods caught 238 fish for an average of 2.31.
The fishing has been a little harder this week with the brighter conditions and hatches of caenis making it a little tricky on all of the pools.
On the day ticket lake water Cocks Close, the boats are doing better than the bank with the fish pushing out into the middle of the lake. The biggest fish of the week was an 8lb 8oz rainbow caught by Mr D Jones of Coventry who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and it was the best of a seven fish catch taken on Damsel Nymph. John Considine of Leicester fishing from a boat on Cocks Close caught and returned a total of 12 fish to 4lb and these all fell to a Buzzer fished on a floating line.
On the members’ lake Great Pool, Clive Squires of Coventry caught eight fish to 4lb 3oz using small dries and Buzzers fished on a floating line whilst fishing from a boat and Paul Reay of Birmingham fished from a boat on Park Meadow pool and caught six fish to 4lb using small Klinkhammer dries and black Buzzers.
There are still lots of fish moving all over the pools but they have switched to the caenis and are therefore more difficult to catch. Damsel Nymph pulled near the surface is a good tactic along with fishing small Buzzers on a washing line with a bright coloured Blob on the point.
The Fishery will close for a summer break on June 30th and will re-open on October 1st.
