FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 24/5/15
Last week 99 rods caught 287 fish for an average of 2.90.
Although there are lots of fish moving all day on all of the lakes it was a little harder to tempt them over the past week. Small imitative patterns fished on a floating line have been the best approach with Buzzers, Diawl Bach, Hoppers, CDC Emergers, Bloodworm and Damsel Nymph all accounting for a few fish.
The biggest fish of the week was a 10lb rainbow caught by the Fisheries’ own Tom Smith of Meriden who was fishing from a boat on the Great Pool and he tempted it with a Diawl Bach fished on a floating line. Clive Squires of Coventry also had a lovely day on Great Pool catching 11 fish in total and the biggest weighing in at 7lb and he caught them all on a green Buzzer fished on a floating line. On the Park Meadow pool, Bill Dunne of Birmingham caught seven fish to 4lb using a Damsel Nymph.
Chris Gee of Solihull fished from a boat on Cocks Close and caught and released 14 fish to 8lb using a small Cats Whisker pattern and Paul Fleeman of Redditch fished
small Klinkhammer dries from a boat on Cocks Close and caught six fish to 6lb.
