FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 1/11/15
Last week saw 50 rods catch 160 fish for an average of 3.20 per rod.
The fishing has been like the weather, very changeable, one day fishing well, particularly on the more overcast days and the next fishing hard.
The most popular patterns at the moment are Gold Head or Hot Head Damsels, Diawl Bach, black Buzzer, Cats Whisker and black Tadpole with floating lines working best combined with long leaders.
The biggest rainbow was 12lb caught by Rod Lacey of Nuneaton who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he took it on a black Buzzer fished on a floating line which also accounted for another at 7lb. Mike Ravenscroft of Kenilworth caught eight fish to 7lb using Buzzers on a floating line whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close. Mark Goldney of Nuneaton fished both Cocks Close and Park Meadow catching eight fish in total to 3lb and these all came to orange Hot Head Damsels fished on a floating line. Steve Gowan of Knowle caught seven fish from a boat on Cocks Close using Cats Whiskers.
