FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 30/11/14
Last week 77 rods caught 246 fish for an average of 3.19 fish per rod.
The Day Ticket water Cocks Close has been in decent form this week especially for the anglers fishing from boats. The bank fishing is a little hit and miss with the old boat jetty corner and the high bank the most consistent areas. Anglers have found that Lures such as Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, Minkies, orange Blobs and big Gold Head Damsels have been the best flies fished on an intermediate or sinking line.
The best fish of the week was a 7lb rainbow caught by Dave Woollaston of Warwick who was fishing from a boat on the Great Pool and this was the best of a five fish catch including another at 6lb 8oz and they all fell to Cats Whiskers. Mark Smith of Rowley Regis fished catch and release from a boat on Cocks Close and caught eight fish to 5lb using black Tadpoles fished on an intermediate line. Alex Kerr of Nuneaton took five and returned a further four whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and they all came to either a Damsel Nymph or a Bloodworm pattern fished on a floating line. Mark Sturgess of Nuneaton fished the bank of Cocks Close and caught five fish and returned a further three up to 4lb and he used black and white lures on intermediate line.
Paul Reay of Birmingham fished the bank of Park Meadow pool and caught seven fish to 3 ½lb using black Lures and black Buzzers fished on a floating line.
Further restocking will take place this week with some very special fish ordered.
