FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 22/2/15
Last week there were 84 rods caught 299 fish for an average of 3.56.
The Fishery is in really good form at the moment with both boat and bank anglers enjoying plenty of action. There are lots of fish showing on the top as the weather has warmed a little and the quality of fish caught has been excellent with lots of 3lb+ fish.
The biggest last week was an estimated 10lb+ rainbow caught by Mr J Ponting of Sutton Coldfield who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he caught it on a black Lure which also accounted for another at 6lb. Mark Goldney of Nuneaton had an 8lb 13oz rainbow, fishing from the bank of Cocks Close and this was the best of an eight fish catch taken on Hot Head Damsel Nymphs. Rob Hepburn of Rugby caught five fish from a boat on Cocks Close with the best weighing at 8½lb.
On the members water Great Pool, Mick Hanson of Nuneaton caught an 8lb fish amongst his seven fish haul which all fell to white and green Lures.
Top patterns are Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, Fritz Lure, Diawl Bach, Montana Nymph and Bloodworm.
The hotspots have been the old boat jetty corner and the lodge corner on Cocks Close and on the Great Pool, the shallow water and around the middle island have been the top areas.
