FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 1/3/15

Last week there were 64 rods caught 212 fish for an average of 3.31.

It has been another good week on the Trout Fishery with plenty of fish coming out and the quality has been exceptional this week with lots of 4lb caught.

The largest fish of the week was an 8lb 10oz rainbow caught by Alex Kerr of Nuneaton who was fishing the bank of Cocks Close and he caught it on a Crisp Pack Buzzer fished on a floating line. Richard Lindsey of Stafford caught six fish whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close including fish of 8lb, 6lb 6oz and another just over 4lb and these all came to a olive Leech pattern fished on a floating line. Dave Bytheway from Wolverhampton trout fished for the first time on the bank of Cocks Close and was rewarded with two rainbows including one at 7lb 8oz and these fell to Cats Whiskers fished on a floating line.

On the members’ water Great Pool, Paul Hanson of Nuneaton caught seven fish including one at 6lb 8oz and all these fell to the popular Cats Whisker. The members’ water Park Meadow will re-open on Saturday 7th March after a short closure period for maintenance work.

The top flies have been Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, Damsel Nymph, black or red Buzzer and Bloodworm.

The high bank and road bank of Cocks Close have been the best areas.
