FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 9/11/14
Last week 64 rods caught 207 fish for an average of 3.23 fish per rod.
The weeks biggest fish was a massive 16lb rainbow caught by Roger Smith of Atherstone who was fishing from a boat on cocks close and he took it on a cats whisher fished on an intermediate line.Alan Mills of Bewdley also caught a cracking fish, this one was a 14lb rainbow caught from the Park Meadow pool and it also fell to a cats whisker lure.Mr Rob Hepburn had a 9-8 rainbow whilst fishing from a boat on cock c lose and this one came to a damsel nymph fished on a floating line.
The bank fishing on cocks close has improved over the past week but the boat anglers have enjoyed more consistent success.Mr Ian Fletcher of Derby fished from a boat on there and caught 7 fish to 5lb on orange zonkers fished on a slow sinking line.On the bank Ade Cooper of Maxstoke caught 5 fish to 24lbs using a small peahead lure.
The Great pool has been fishing well this week,Nick Howarth of Nuneaton fished from a boat on there and caught 7 fish to 3lb on small buzzers fished just under the surface.
The top patterns have been cats whisker, damsel nymph,GRHE,blobs ,orange lures and black buzzer.
A large stocking of rainbows upto double figures will go into the lakes this week.
