boyceyParticipantmorning all hope ya all catching and going to cheer england on later? any way i have just moved about a mile away form boddington ressy and love fishing the place.just wondered what advise you would give for a good fairly priced pellet wag and reel combo.i currently use a greys prodigy barbel rod but find the cast is a bit random and a exage shimano reel with the brake clutch on the back.i need something a little more powerfull as those carp are going double mainly now.tight lines all and will be renting rooms out for overnight stays shortley for the fishing for long distance travellers ~shh

garyb92000ParticipantLike Mr Foxman I use a 3012 TDR but to a Shakey Mach 3 11ft Pellet Wag rod.
These rods are absolutely outstanding for the price. However don’t know if you need a longer rod for Boddington, as I have never fished it before.
Also heared got feedback from the Drennan Puddle Chuckers.
England 3 Slovenia 0~clap ~clap ~clap ~clap ~clap

TF_dave brittainLook at the Shakespeare Mach 3 XT 12ft Pellet Waggler and the mach 3 025 or 040 reel.
The 11ft Mach 3 micro is an awsome rod however the 12ft has slightly more power and is better suited for bigger fish and fishing at range on venues like Boddington.
For short to medium chucks the 2500 reel is fine however for distance and cranking power go for the 040 reel

TF_Fred DavisGarbolino 10ft knock out £22 of sheer brilliance or go for the rocket waggler with a bit more poke for around £6 extra teamed with the new garbo reels made for use with the pellet wag to reduce line twist with a shallower spool (supercaster 645G)
Is their a better combo?

tdr 3012 reel.
drake 2 swan floats. rairly 3swan with 11mm pellets if distance is needed.
drennam float attachments.
no 8 swivels.
pr27/16 hooks.
preston power line 015 hook lenth.
maxima 3/4lbs reel line.
8mm skrettings pellets lots of them.personal choice realy try them all . ask anglers you see using the p/w if you can have a cast after the match most will let you i know i would.

TF_makerIm amazed at people using 10 to 11ft wag rods on boddington, these are quite big fish and fight hard, i use at least a 12ft float rod, sometimes i feel under gunned at that?
