Pellet waggler fishing

What is latest and best way of setting up the pellet waggler?

Fishing for carp in the 3-6lb range.

I set mine up using plastic float stops either side of the float one above 3 below. I attach the float to a link swivel so I can change it if needed.
I use the Drennan crystal pellet wagglers in 5g size. With 6lb line I can cast these about as far as I can catty 8mm pellets.
The float stops concept allows quick depth changes, I am also finding a gap in the stops can help hooking as the older wiser fish seem to able to eject the bait if they feel the weight of the float.
I have some of the Mayo weights which I fix to styro wagglers and then use a bit of power gum to loop through a swivel so I can attach them if needed on the same rig. They don’t dive as much as the crystals so can be more effective if the fish are very shallow.
Guru hooks or Drennan carbon feeder hooks 16 ,18 or 20 to 017 line is the norm for me with a hair rigged band for the pellets. Once more the drennan bands in mini or micro cover all options with the pellet just hanging off the bend.

My set up is very similar to john… I use 2 stops above and 3 below and 6lb main line… I use the preston dura slim wagglers in 4 or 6 gramm on small waters and 8 on bigger… Hook wise I use pr36 16 or 18 and guru .17 for smaller carp and pr38 14 to .22 for the bigger..I also use a guru band

If you buy the crystals glue the loading weight to the body as they tend to come apart, also the band holds the pellet better if you use a small hacksaw blade to groove around the pellet before you band it. This also disguises the band for days when the fish are hard to fool.
I use the shaky Mach 3 11 footers but have just bought Daiwa 12foot Tournament as everyone on here raves about them.
That said there are some great budget rods around like force which you can buy for about £40.
It’s a great method and many days now the pole stays in the holdall!

again john is right but they’ve stopped making the force… I use an old browning force and its excellent… they make a commercial king which is just as good for less than £50
