        I’m Looking to upgrade from my Diawa Supercast’s ST-X 12′ to the Penn Affinity 13’6″. I like the look of this Penn Rod especially the thin butt, but would like opinions from anyone who has used them or similar. I use an ABU Mag multiplier in the low position and have a reliable aerialised OTG cast.

          Having been bought out by SKP, a little birdie told me that in the future the Penn range will be the basis of SKS’s ‘budget’ range bit like Abu and Red Wolf, Penn and Jarvis Walker.
          must admit to being a bit mystified when they released them, TDXS 133pm would seem a more logical upgrade, though not thin in the butt.(Helluva rod)

              Thanks for the general advice and help. I’m off to Dungeness tommorow eve for a session. Fingers crossed for a good start to the winter season.

                It was a whiting affair, as soon as it got dark they came in two at a time. Still, at least that’s tea sorted for tonight.
