        The above championships were hosted by Northumbria Police last week. Two day competition held on Blyth Beach 31/10/07 and Warkworth Beach 01/11/07 on the Northumberland coast.

        Conditions not ideal with W-SW winds and flat seas.

        Match results:

        140 fished individuals, 36 teams, 242 fish caught

        1st – Geoff McIntyre – Police Service of Northern Ireland ‘B’ – 72 points
        2nd – Peter Hewitt – Cumbria Police – 69 points
        3rd – Dennis Barnes – Cumbria Police – 66 points

        Teams:

        1st – Cumbria Police – 192 points
        2nd – PSNI ‘B’ – 184 points
        3rd – Metropolitan Police ‘C’ – 155 points

        Zone Winners – Blyth:

        Blue – Pat Sheppard – Norfolk ‘A’
        Green – Geoff McIntyre – PSNI ‘B’
        Red – Dennis Barnes – Cumbria
        Yellow – Gregor Hay – Northern Constabulary

        Zone Winners – Warkworth:

        Blue – Geoff McIntyre – PSNI ‘B’
        Green – John Crawford – Kent ‘A’
        Red – Kyle Millar – PSNI ‘C’
        Yellow – Fred Douglas – Northumbria Police ‘B’

        Longest fish:

        Graham Clarke – South Yorkshire ‘A’ – Flounder 39cm – Blyth
        Steve Watts – North Wales – Turbot 39cm – Warkworth

        Well done to all the winners and thanks to those that took part and made it an enjoyable few days.
