I normally use my mixed sizes of meat punches – also have some old cut off bits of carbon for large discs – hook size depends on size of punch used but take into account that the bread will swell up a fair bit.
I use the korum or drennan quick stops which hold the bread fine – I normally cut these down for use with corn or meat etc but leave em full length for bread to hold it better – use nice and doughy bread usually folded over to double or sometimes treble thickness. Also leave the hair a bit longer than normal to allow for the bread swelling up.
I dont use any shot but have different length hooklengths attached via quick change bead to vary depth I pop it up.
If you’re fishing a deep venue where you may need to search several feet of water i.e. Hayfield – use a running bomb with 2 rubber grips – these will allow you to move the depth by sliding the grips as required – you need to use two rather than one grip to stop the bomb from pulling back to your hooklength knot when casting etc. I often use two rubber grips either side of loaded pellet wags as you can also change the depth quick like this whithout changing hook lengths or having extra rods set up.
