POWER WALKER TROLLEYS

Hi im thinking of investing in one of these due to the size and weight of the maver mx3500 box ive got.The trolley system is useless unless you are on flat ground and was wondering if anyone uses one of these electric trolleys.I like the idea of the three wheel model and have seen them for £280 on ebay .Also there are other makes of trolley out there has anyone got one of these.Cheers Ian.~think

i always thought they were over priced till i got one they are superb most of the tees lads use them but i would get the 2 wheeled one it will do everything you need m8

If you get one make sure you have the up-graded battery leads.
I’ve got one and burnt out the connectors when going over heavy ground. I think the connectors corrode over time and the resistance increases. Once I got the up-graded leads I had no trouble.

Best bit of kit you can get. I’ve got the 2 wheel model, goes anywhere with no trouble. Make sure when you load the trolley you get the weight over the two wheels.

I bought some quick release straps from Halfords which I use to attatch my Milo box to the trolly base. The straps are the ones used on bike pedels for racing bikes. A couple of bungees hold my carryall and netbag on.

I bought the two-wheeled version two years ago and it’s the best 250 notes I have ever spent.
Fully loaded, my gear weighs in at over 100 pounds; gone are the days when faced with a long walk, having to decide which tackle to take to my peg and what to leave in the car, this machine takes the lot, including the kitchen sink. The only problem with the two-wheeler is the excessive strain on your pulling arm which becomes very tiresome; I made my own third wheel attachment which completely eliminates the problem, now every walk to the peg is like a stroll in the park.
Unknown to me at the time, Powawalker were developing their own third wheel whenI made mine and it’s now available as an optional extra for around £50.
Other than a couple of minor electrical problems, the trolley has been totally reliable and their after-sales service is exceptional with a quick phone call resulting in the neccessary spares being received within 24 hours. The trolley is built like a brick
sh**house and has so far proved indestructible;I have also looked at the Ultimate trolley, which in my opinion is a blatant copy of the Powawalker and I dont see how they can match the quality for £100 less.
Buy the Powawalker with confidence, I guarantee you won’t regret it.

Having Parkinsons and severe arthritis, I was always struggling to get my tackle to my peg. Even with help from my son and fellow anglers it was hard work.
After buying the three wheel version Power walker, No problem getting my tackle to the peg.
Seatbox. two carryalls, stink bag and pole roller bags, all held on by bungies, I just stroll behind while the trolley takes the pain. Easy now.

I had the 3 wheeler and found it really, really dire. Totally underpowered for my normal match kit and kept breaking down with the little spindle things in the left and right wheel continually breaking and meaning it was only good for turning circles.

Well made and solid but totally useless imo.

Don’t know where you are coming from mate!
Three of us bought one each of the three wheelers with the STRONGER 200 WATT MOTOR about a year ago and just think they are great.
We have done some long, very bumpy river walks with them, to places we had given up going to because of the efforts involved.
For those that know it, one such venue is the ”Spinney” on the BAA water at Hampton Loade, a right old jaunt!
One piece of advice I would give is, DON’T HAVE THE TYRES AT TOO HIGH A PRESSURE. After testing different pressures we now run ours at 8lbs to 12lbs psi max in the drive wheels and about 5lbs psi in the small wheel.
This makes it a softer ride with the tyres acting as shock absorbers and up to now none of us have had the pins in the axle break – touch wood.
But I think it is better to have broken pins than a stripped gear wheel – take some spares with you!
We have also put ”Goop” into the tyres to protect from punctures and so far it has been successful.

I used to love mine but I ended up upgrading to a newer model as it stopped being able to carry the weight over rough ground.

Unfortunately the problem was more to do with overloading than a fault with the trolley so I would say these are ideal for pleasure anglers and light match anglers.

Anyone with a serious amount of kit will get overloading issues such as stalling and axle pins snapping!

Brilliant for lighter work but for heavy stuff invest in a four wheel trolley.

the last set (well one of them) of spare spindles got jammed but half snapped! not really ideal for something that should’nt really occur with little use, imo. Will however, try the tyre pressure advice and cycle goop 🙂

Can u buy the new uprated 200 watt motor separately? as may do this at some future point given the old one plus the 2 l/r drive wheels are now being fitted to a converted 4 wheel shuttle type frame by an engineer mate who’s successfully made quite a really excellent few with various golfcart hilllbilly motors.
