Just heard that the Preston PR28 hooks are been discontinued ??

As i use these for all my summer carping any suggestions on a alternative ?? Used to use the B911 but found a few of these opened up on Munters.

PR28 are great hook, don’t think i’ve heard anyone say a bad thing about them. Apart from Nathan.

What don’t you like about them Nathan??

Go blunt after every other fish as all Preston hooks I’ve tried have!

agree with nathan, pr28 go blunt way to fast. would never use them again. I now use gamakatsu carp size 14, never bend, barely ever blunt. perfect hooks.

As I understand it, PR28s aren’t being discontinued, just repackaged.
Hang on a bit and you should soon be able to get them again.

Re-packaged is what the Preston Rep told me at the weekend. Delay in distribution has been caused by delay in the packaging, all the hooks have been manufactured.

Best hook i’ve ever used, never had one open up or blunt.

I’ve heard a few people say they were just getting repackage. Lets hope so !!!!

I must just get bad batches then! Tried PR 28, 24 and 27 all went blunt constantly!

I found that the PR28’s used to go blunt very quickly too! Use the Fox Series 2’s instead.

pr 28 are brilliant way way better than the fox, if you balance your kit right you can get away with a tubertini 808 with most carp upto 6lb
