In my opinion way to big and heavy and not worth the RRP but some people love them, take a look at the Matrix box very well made and looks smart

A friend of mine has had one for a few weeks, he also said it is very heavy. Also he cannot get it low enough for him and some of the drawer pins are failing.

Funny that about it not going low enough!

Des shipp reckons its the lowest box of that style on the market! Hmmmmmm!

Very true but its does make you think. Saw one the other week. It did look pretty good but the weight issue is ridiculous. Lad was pushing one on a trolley and was still knack erred!

Yep Des will have no choice but to rave about the box :p I also know several anglers who have sold Maver boxes due to the weight of them and even though they come with wheel kits you need arms like Arnie to lift them in and out of the car !! 😀

I got the impression from the video that Des meant low to the ground as in the footplate is only a few inches above the ground, as opposed to the overall height of the box.

I was looking for a new box, but it was too heavy, imo.

just sold mine way to heavy.very awkward to carry with strap, does not hang proper. draw catches very stiff had issues with bits falling off though preston did replace them.Screws that keep base unit in place to short had to wait for new one’s.Now have a rive folding canal box brilliant.one other thing matrix new bait tray is very good as well

mate just had one a few weeks ago – he’s not a big lad and finds it fine – if you carry a load of extra units – it will be very, very heavy – but in practice who actually does?

A great improvement on my old space station mk.1 in terms of refined details and that low footprint, – a nice front roundish bar for your feet as well.

Would’nt want to carry one without a 4 wheelshuttle or conversion – but then again would’nt want to lug any box about without one – certainly not on my shoulder – excepting maybe an old water-line’little gem’ (not got one )if faced with a long walk over rough fields plus styles on a river, which used to be about once or twice a year now in my local case.

A mate of mine had all the same problems as Lolb got rid of it within 2 weeks and bought a Matrix.

I was looking at one of these, they looked great in the pictures and press releases (but they would wouldn’t they).

Then I finally saw one in the flesh and what a let down it was, i have to say preston really slipped up with the quailty of the finish on the welding, especially for something that is their flagship seat box.

In my opinion if they were going to choose the colour they did for the box the welding should’ve been finished off a lot better, after all it is on the spacestation.

Now there is only one box for me when i do eventually buy a new one and that is one of the Rive D36 range

I had a look at the Colmic boxes yesterday, these are seriosly quality boxes the build quality is exceptional. For about the same money you would pay for an Absolute you can get a Colmic ONE with a load of extras included (side tray, spray bar, keepnet arms etc etc).Like the Absolute its not the lightest box around but imo a brilliant bit of kit.

Two of my friends now have these, both are not happy with them !!

Looks like I will keep my old milo box then.
