Anyone had problems with the waterproof element cracking?

Had mine 18 months and they have been very good but are splitting were your foot bends? Only use them in the winter and even then only once / max twice per week. Other wear and tear is minimal, even the inners are in excellent condition and little tread wear.

Out of guarantee but gonna mail PI in case there may have been a batch / manufacturing issue before I replace for next winter.

yes mate i had the same problem with spliting, but little quicker.

the suppling shop tried to fob me off, then sai they cant do anything until the suppling rep authorised anything.

they replaced them and the second pair did the same, suppling dealer then washed his hands of them saying they wont supply another pair.

i insisted on a full refund, which eventually i got. even out of warranty the law is on the side of the consumer, insisited on a refund,

Yes had mine about 2 years now and they cracked the very same place, i didnt take mine back cause they dont let in any water, when they do i will be getting another pair as happy to get 2 to 3 years out of them for the price, nice and easy to get on and off too.

There have been loads more bad reports on here about these boots from virtually the day they came out. Not warm, not lasting five minutes. Maybe easy to slip on and off but don’t live upto their hype, judging by all who have come before you.

I had the first pair split on both boots, after less than 6 days wear.the shop replaced them.not warm in any coldweather conditions. i have gone back to skeetex field boots, and skeetex moonboots.as they are a tried, tested, and reliable product~clap ~clap ~clap ~clap

Ive had mine over a year and they are suprisingly still ok.

They are crap in winter because they dont keep your feet warm but in the summer they are ideal.

Thanks guys looks like I’ll be back to moonboots next winter then if this is a known issue.

Have to say found them okay for warmth, not brill but okay, but not replacing every 12-18 months!!!

                        Guys

7 weeks on I got a reply from PI direct, they are replacing the boots having received my letter and digi photo’s.

Have to say, surprised to get a response but pleased none the less, only fair to post the good news as well as the bad!!

I was always surprised at the boots being faulty as so many other items are A1 from PI, they have come a long way in a short time IMO.

Preston are actually very good when it comes to aftercare service. I’ve had a couple of things replaced by them out of warranty~clap

The DRI-FISH boots are just for summer wear and slightly cooler days , certainly not for Winter use, i’m sure PI will produce a warmer boot brand eventually.
I also noticed thro angling friends that PI are very responsive to problems just lately and that coupled with their great range which is about 95% free from problems makes them the leading brand in the country along with their sister companies SONU-BAITS and KORUM.
……ALL COMPANIES HAVE THEIR PROBLEMS BUT ITS REFRESHING TO HEAR ALL COMPANIES RESPOND TO ULTIMATELY THEIR FUTURE AND PRESENT BUSINESS…..US !
