Obviously there is no set distance and doesn;t have to be…

I have put all mine at 340mm (this is to the centre of wrap where the bush is), this is only becasue I can then trap the elastic I pull out with the hand I’m holding the pole in whilst playing fish (I have quite a longish forearm) and don’t have to move the hand at all..

I would hold your section in your hand (as though you are play a fish), then put a small mark where you would be able to trap the elastic with your hand very easily and that’s the distance for you..

I have mine pre done on my Browning Z9, but 1 thing to consider is the loss of length on your elastic.
The further away you put your side puller from the bottom of your section the shorter the piece of elastic you are able to use between your side puller and pole tip.
Hope this gives you food for thought as we all know elastics aren’t that cheap !!!

You must remember that the male joint of the next section penetrates in some distance as well. It needs to be above that with a little extra for wear and give.

Yeah dont go fitting all that tackle and being unable to poke it up the back end !!! I once witnessed someone and he comes on here, he fitted Maver clean caps, I told him they stay in with superglue, so pissed down at whiteacres he fitted clean caps to his 4,5 And 6 and give them a lick of superglue, he then checked how snug his 5 & 6 would be and I can tell you, very snugg !!!!!

i do loads of pulla kits for many different anglers and find that every one is different to where they want the wrap putting.
some want to pull and trap above some want to trap below the hand holdingte section.
i find it better to have my hand above the wrap and trap elastic with my thumb.
early next year i have some new bushes coming where the elastic will be at 45 degrees rather than the standard 90 these work superbly much smoother.
