Fish week 788 (season 3,621) Returns 141 (554) Rod average 5.89 (6.54)
The warmer weather has produced good hatches of midge with fish now well switched on. The middle of the day is the best time from both boat and bank. Long leaders on floating lines with bloodworm and buzzer combinations are proving the best method.
Top spot this week went to Garry and David Turner who fished black buzzer with an orange cheek to take three superb fish weighing 12lb, 9lb and 8lb plus a dozen stockies. The pair fished from an anchored boat off Platform 13.
James Beeton fished orange fritz on a sinking line to take a 9lb 8oz Rainbow in his bag of 12 fish. Bob Church and Mike Green returned fish of 10lb and 6lb to their boat on Friday. Graham Smith and boat partner Mick Griffin caught 30 fish on Saturday. Mick’s best fish weighed 9lb 5oz. Pat Flynn and Brian Coleman caught 40 fish between them and Matt Harris took 24.
Best Rainbow 12lb Taken by Garry Turner of Blakesley.
Best Brown 4lb taken by S Edkins.
Best boat areas All shallow areas fishing well, Coton Island and Ivy Tree are best.
Best bank areas Lodge end of the Dam Wall.
Best methods See report.
