        Hi all.

Off to the Baittech festival and methods a re banned so it looks like meat feeder is the way to go.

Any suggestions as to how best to add weight to the 17g drennan wire feeders? I dont fancy adding clips on as they are a bit untidy and more likely to catch on vegetation.

Is it possible to glue lead on? Does anyone sell “replacement” heavier leads that would sit flush on the feeder?

        cheers for any advice!

Never had any problems when glueing the flat leads on the wire drennan wire feeders. But i always use Araldite glue when doing them.Have a look at the Nisa pole feeders if it’s a long chuck,as the leads on these are also easy to swop about.

You can araldite a peice of lead onto the original lead on the feeder (scar it a bit first with a stanley knife) and once the araldite is set it will not come off.

Go to a tyre fitters and ‘borrow’ some of their lead strips that they balance tyres with. They come in 5 & 10 gram segments, just araldite these to the existing feeder lead.

Out with the araldite and tin snips tonight then – think I have some lead roll in the garage somewhere…

Alternatively you could use the stick on feeder weights.

I have used the stick on weights that Tickle has posted the link to. Stewart Lister gave me some to try at the Dynamite Baits festival last year.

They are the business. Stuck one on to a drennan cage feeder then and am still using the same one now – it has never come off. But do ensure you stick it on carefully, and that the surface is clean and dry. My bro tried it in the rain and had problems. Basically, I polished the exisiting lead strip on the feeder when at home, and stuck one of these on top. I always have some in my box now.

I’ve been Aralditing lead flashing on the bottom of mine with no probs for years never had it come off, nice and tidy!!
