TF_RhinoI fancy a leather type seat for my Rive that should be a little softer on the old derriere.
Have to be honest and say I dont really fancy the £170 price tag for an original Rive one.
Anyone know if the company that used to advertise on ebay is still in production and if so how do I get in touch (cant find a web site or anything on google) – someone kindly suggested dropping a pm to a member on here but no response so far.
cheers
CK

TF_stu.sA friend and i are about to begin production on some seats we have designed for rive boxes, they will be as good if not better quality than those already available, the difference being the wooden components are made from marine ply and are triple varnished.
Would you boys be so kind as to give us your opinion on whether we need to fit a central pole flap or not?

TF_bagging machineParticipantHave never used my central pole flap (I fish with the pole across both legs) but it may be better to have one that can be quickly taken on and off?

TF_stu.sThanks for the input Bagging machine,i will give it some thought~think
The original Rive seats and the copies are both made from mdf which once wet sag in the middle,as most rive owners will have found out already.
Our versions will look just like the copies you have seen before but should last a lifetime~clap -

caster_blasterParticipantStu.s Are the seats your making going to be pole seats or flat seats?
-

TF_RhinoCan’t have you outdoing me Martin – with your tarty BISON coloured Rive!!!
Making flat seats would be a good idea – I would prefer that to one with a pole channel

TF_Big FinnParticipantStu.s im looking for a new seal for my rive. can you send me some info and pics.
-
29/01/2010 at 2:43 pm #91587
TF_stu.sThey will be pole seats but we can do flat seats if you require,as soon as i get a new protoype done i’ll get the pictures on here.
Has anyone had a problem with their drawer catching the leather underneath the seat?
We have addressed this issue too and solved it. -

Kingsway AllstarHere we go again.
Stu you say in one post you have designed some seats for Rive boxes and in another post you say our versions will look just like the copies.
You must of been up all night. ~think

TF_stu.sKingsway,i am not knocking your seats in any way,i have seen them and they are superb.

I do not see your point.~think -

TF_John PriceI have seen the seats that Stu S is on about and tbh they are fantastic!!! Alot sturdier due to the marine ply and also as he says no danger of the draw unit wearing the fabric underneath!! Really good and as they are marine ply and varnished a bit of moisture will not mean sagging and a disfunctional box even with a tubby git like me on them!!

shallamanChris i back up what your mates saying [ TART ] Just my thoughts , if you do go for a replacement seat make sure whoever makes it uses top quality pvc, if they use the best grade available they should last for years . By the way my mate bought one off here over 12 months ago very good quality , still going strong .

TF_paulcarpenterummmmm ive had an original rive seat (new type) ive had it for about 10mths and as we live in the uk and are prone to wet weather the underside which is made out of mdf has got wet. this has made the base swell slightly so i cant shut my side drawer, for how much this cost in my opinion isnt very good at all.
